In this high-energy, modern pantomime, the cruel Sheriff of Nottingham rules the town with an iron fist, aided by his not-so-bright but fearsome Chief of Police, Gayle of Gisbourne. As the people struggle under outrageous taxes, hope comes in the form of Robin Hood: a good-hearted, slightly dim crack-shot archer who secretly steals back the Sheriff’s wealth to help the poor. Robin lives in Sherwood Forest with his merry band, including the gentle giant Little Jane and the rock-star minstrel Alanna Dale. At the heart of it all is Mother Hood—Robin’s larger-than-life mum and the show’s Dame—who runs the Sherwood food bank and provides both chaos and compassion in equal measure.
Trouble escalates when Maid Marion, the rightful heir to the throne and determined to stand up to injustice, refuses to pay the Sheriff’s taxes and is arrested alongside Friar Tuck. Robin sets off on a daring rescue mission, outwitting Gayle, dodging the Sheriff’s traps, and relying on the loyalty of his friends. Marion proves she can take care of herself, while the Sheriff hatches a grand archery contest to finally capture his nemesis. Bursting with pop songs, slapstick, disguises, and audience interaction, this joyful retelling celebrates bravery, community, and family—showing that with love, laughter, and a little help from Mum, good will always triumph over greed.

This vibrant pantomime opens with the birth of Princess Aurora, daughter of King Wally of Welwyn, and a joyful celebration led by the good fairy Merryweather. The festivities are shattered when her embittered sister, the wicked fairy Carabosse, arrives uninvited and lays a terrible curse: before her eighteenth birthday, Aurora will prick her finger and die. Merryweather softens the spell so that instead Aurora will fall into a deep sleep, to be broken only by true love’s kiss. To keep her safe, King Wally entrusts his baby daughter to the care of the irrepressible Dame, Nurse Nelly, and her well-meaning but clueless son, Chester the Jester, who raise Aurora in secret as “Rose,” hidden away in the woods.
Eighteen years later, Rose dreams of a bigger life and falls for a charming stranger—Prince Harry of Hatfield—without realising he is the prince she was betrothed to at birth. As Rose’s true identity is revealed and she is returned to the palace, she must choose between royal duty and following her heart, while Carabosse plots to strike before midnight. In a modern comic twist, the curse is finally fulfilled not by a spinning wheel, but by Chester’s DJ decks, when Rose pricks her finger on a turntable needle and falls into an enchanted sleep. With help from Merryweather, Nurse Nelly, Chester, and the power of love, good battles evil in a joyful finale packed with pop songs, slapstick, and audience interaction—proving that kindness, courage, and being true to yourself can break even the darkest spell.
